About
G'day, I'm Des.
Photography is how I slow down and pay attention. I'm not chasing destinations or ticking places off a list, I'm chasing moments. Storms building on the horizon, the Milky Way cutting through a clear night, that brief window when everything lines up and the scene finally clicks.
Most of my time is spent chasing light. Early mornings, late nights, and a lot of waiting around for the sky to do something interesting.I'm a Photographer and Content Creator currently based in Far North Queensland, living full time in a caravan with my partner Abbi.
From rainforests and waterfalls to coastlines, tablelands, and big open skies, it's the kind of place where the conditions change fast and the light rarely behaves the same way twice. That unpredictability is what keeps me hooked.
Alongside photography, I create films and stories that document the process. The wins, the misses, the rough tracks, the quiet camps, and everything in between. Nothing overly polished, just real experiences shaped by weather, light, and being out there.
Living in a caravan keeps things simple and flexible. If the forecast looks good, I go. If it doesn't, I slow down. That freedom feeds directly into both my photography and the stories I tell.
If you're drawn to wild places, outback Australia, camping & outdoor adventures you're in the right spot.
